Four gold medals at the 2017 New Zealand International Wine Show for Nelson, once again across different varieties. The New Zealand International Wine Show is the largest wine competition held in New Zealand, with over 2,000 entries received. The judging took place from 18th through 20th September, with medal results announced today.
Bob Campbell MW was the Chief Judge and his winemaking senior judges were Tony Bish, Peter Cowley, Michael Bann, Michael Ivicevich, Ant MacKenzie, Larry McKenna, Olly Masters , Alastair Maling MW, Jen Parr, Nick Picone , James Rowan and Sam Smail.
The Nelson Producers to receive gold medals were:
- Brightwater Vineyards Nelson Pinot Noir 2015 - making this Brightwater Vineyards 12th gold medal for Pinot Noir.
- Old Coach Road Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2017
- MIDDLE-EARTH Pinot Gris 2017
- Aronui Nelson Albarino 2015
The trophy winners will be announced at the Awards dinner on 7th October.
